Uber receipts cause Microsoft Outlook to crash

Microsoft has flagged a formatting bug that causes Outlook to freeze whenever you open emails with complex schedules, including Uber receipts. The defect is So It’s so powerful that it also crashes Word. The issue was first observed in a standard version of Outlook, but current beta versions and current channel preview versions encounter the same error if you try to open messages using tables.

Microsoft says it has developed a fix to reach beta users “soon” and reach everyone in a patch that will arrive on August 9. If you really need to see details of your last Uber trip, you can go back to the previous version in Windows by running Microsoft Command Prompt help.

NASA and its James Webb Space Telescope partners have shared a new look at the Cartwheel Galaxy. It reveals additional details about both star formation and the black hole at the center of the galaxy, which is about 500 million light-years from Earth. Using infrared detection, JWST can navigate through dust that has obscured the Cartwheel Galaxy from view when other telescopes are observing it.

Logitech and Tencent have announced that they are working on a handheld cloud gaming device. They blend Logitech G brand hardware knowledge with Tencent software ingenuity. According to their landing page, the device is tentatively – and creatively – called the Logitech G Gaming Handheld. Logitech said it will “support multiple cloud gaming services.” Tencent and Logitech work with the Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce Now teams at Microsoft and NVIDIA, so expect the mobile device to support both platforms.

The Taiwanese presidency website was attacked before Nancy Pelosi’s visit

The site was bombed with more than 200 times the normal traffic.

As more than 300,000 people watched anxiously the flight path of SPAR19, the US Air Force plane carrying Nancy Pelosi on her tour of Asia, the Taiwanese presidential website fell in an apparent cyberattack. According to the Taiwanese presidential spokesman, Chang Tun Han, the attack originated outside Taiwan and saw the site bombed with more than 200 times the normal traffic. They claim the site is back to normal “within 20 minutes”.
