Over the past few weeks, Oppo and OnePlus have given a small number of users a chance to try out Android 13 on select devices via early Android 13 developer preview builds. Now, the companies have started the public beta recruitment of ColorOS 13 for the Oppo Find X5, Oppo Find N and OnePlus 10 Pro series to give more users a chance to try out the upcoming Android upgrade before the first stable release.
According to recent posts in the Oppo and OnePlus community forums, users of the Oppo Find X5, Find X5 Pro, Find N and OnePlus 10 Pro can now sign up for the ColorOS 13 public beta program. Those who sign up for the program will get a chance to test ColorOS 13 based on Android 13 on the aforementioned devices before the update rolls out on the stable channel later this year.
If you own an Oppo Find X5, Find X5 Pro, or Find N, you can enroll in the ColorOS 13 public beta program by heading to About the device In the device settings, by clicking on the ColorOS version logo at the top, and choosing Trial versions option from the three-dot menu on the next page, then follow the prompts to apply. Before doing any of this, you need to update your phone to the version of ColorOS 12 mentioned in the announcement posts for the device.
OnePlus 10 Pro users also need to go through a similar process to sign up for the ColorOS 13 public beta program. If you want to try out an early version of ColorOS 13 on your OnePlus 10 Pro, you can sign up for the beta program by filling out the first adopter app in the About device section in the settings. As with Oppo devices, you need to update your OnePlus 10 Pro to a specific OxygenOS 12 version to get started.
Note that Oppo and OnePlus offer limited slots for the ColorOS 13 public beta, and you may not discount. If you are shortlisted, you should receive your ColorOS 13 public beta via OTA update five business days after the recruitment ends. It’s also worth noting that while the ColorOS 13 public beta registration for the OnePlus 10 Pro is currently limited to China, Oppo has opened registrations in several regions. That’s because OnePlus will offer OxygenOS 13 on the global variants of the OnePlus 10 Pro.
We do not recommend signing up for the ColorOS 13 public beta program if you are using an Oppo or OnePlus device as a daily driver. The trial version contains several known issues that negatively affect daily use. For more details, check out the original ad posts by following the source links below.
