When you go cave diving, what do you need? Diary? We are not so sure! But the upcoming movie Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling in Darkness wants you to bring one.

Well, not in real life, but there is a key RPG mechanic, and it’s not really an Abyss dive. It is to record the details of the people you meet, the creatures you encounter, and the trails you discover.

These creatures are very dangerous! They are known as “primitive creatures”, and must be observed with monoculars to obtain information about them. But this limits your vision, so you have to get close to the creature without being spotted.

As you progress through the abyss, you will also come across facilities that have been built. You may meet the highest rank, White Whistle, down there. Or maybe you find a seeker’s camp, or a frontline base. You can also pick up missions as you go down.

Publisher Spike Chunsoft also showed off a set of new screenshots of the game, detailing all these little tidbits. One of the primitive creatures is called a weeping corpse, which is very terrifying for birds.

If you’re eager to become a Cave Raider, you have less than a month to wait! Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling in Darkness launches on Switch on September 2nd.

Will you challenge the abyss to find some primal creatures? How do you find the second season of the show? Let’s know!
