At absolutely every turn, I’m looking for ways to support my fellow indie game developers, and today’s news brings a smile to my face (insert meme here, I think). A project called Outbreak: Contagious Memories will be launching on Kickstarter soon, and its loyal fans have taken to rallying the Stadia community blog to show support.
The game will be launching soon, and with it, a click-to-play demo on Stadia for anyone who wants to try it out. It’s a great strategy – launching a Kickstarter and getting support from Google through its new and great frictionless beta system during the lifetime of the campaign. This means that anyone looking to support the project can do more than just look at GIFs and text, they can play it!
In addition to Outbreak, Stadia has announced the upcoming release of The Dungeons of Naheulbeuk: Amulet of Chaos and “From Space,” a sequel called “It Came From Space and Ate Our Brains.”
All three of these games sound a lot of fun, and I’m personally very excited about The Dungeons of Naheulbeuk (and yes, I had to look at the word to spell it correctly every time) because it has the weird and humorous style of something like Dungeons and Dragons. I wish the developers of Outbreak the best of luck, and I hope their strategy gets a lot of support. Please be sure to check out the game and play a free 60 minute demo before heading to their Kickstarter page!
